Mrs. Eliana Martins attended Corona Primary School, Bukuru, Jos, Plateau State and graduated from the primary School in 1976, following which she then attended secondary school at Saint Louis College Jos, Plateau State where she obtained her WAEC/GCE O’Levels in 1981. Thereafter Eliana Martins attended the University of Jos, Plateau State where she studied Law and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Laws, Degree (LLB) Hons. Having completed her University Education, in 1986 she left Jos for Lagos where she attended the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos and was awarded the Certificate of Call to the Nigerian Bar, (BL)] in 1987.
Mrs. Eliana Martins then proceeded to serve her NYSC as State Counsel, in the DPP’s Division, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Alausa, Ministry of Justice, Alausa. Subsequently she worked for several years in different capacities, as Counsel and Managing Counsel in Chambers, Legal Officer in some private companies, Company Secretary and Legal Adviser for a consortium of companies and gained a lot of experience.
Mrs Martins then attended the Post Graduate School, University of Lagos Akoka, Yaba, Lagos between 1998 – 1999 where she gained her Master of Laws, Degree (LLM)]. Mrs Martins is a strong believer of continuous education, and has continuously attended numerous training courses both in Nigeria and overseas.
As a Legal Practitioner who was called to the Nigerian Bar some 31 years ago, she has been exposed to diverse experiences in both the public and the private sectors in practice areas including: commercial/corporate, criminal & civil matters, finance, property matters, oil & gas, contracts, labour, Maritime and Shipping, Power, family & Estate matters and so forth. She is the Principal Eliana Martins & Co, Solicitors & Advocates
She is an Accredited and Chartered Mediator and Conciliator, and is currently a Fellow of the highly prestigious Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria (ICMC). Indeed Mrs Eliana Martins is the current Secretary of the Lagos State Chapter of ICMC.
She is very passionate about all matters that affect the rights, protection and interests of the vulnerable groups particularly women and children. This interest led her to joining the International Federation of Women Lawyers, Nigeria (FIDA Nigeria), Lagos State Branch FIDA where she served FIDA in several capacities including pioneer branch PRO, Vice Chairperson of the branch; and between 2013 -2016, Mrs Martins served as Chairperson of FIDA LAGOS

Eliana Martins has also served as a Board Member of the Catholic Lagos Ecclesiastical Provincial Health Board. She is a patron of several groups including the Catholic Youths Organization of Nigeria (CYON), The Queen of Angels Choir, and JDPC (St Agnes Maryland). She is the recipient of several awards, professionally, from the church, and generally from service and philanthropic groups in the society
As a Roman Catholic she is very active in Church and has served in different church associations in various capacities. She was the Pioneer National President of the association of Catholic Sisters United in Christ and is the current CSU Lagos Archdiocesan President .
She is furthermore blessed to be a wife and a mother.
